Project Narrative
Responding to the hot and dry climate of the city, the building blocks are thoughtfully oriented along the east-west axis, with access from the north and south. The twin modernist wings frame a 30-meter-wide nostalgic urban sanctuary- a central green void that defines the spirit of the complex. The step-up massing cultivates landscaped micro-environments and eco-voids for the office floors, while the sculpted form creates natural wind tunnels, ensuring passive cooling and energy efficiency.
At Z Square, movement itself becomes a design experience. The bridges connecting the two wings are not mere passages but visual corridors overlooking the urban plaza. These connectors transform into dynamic vistas—graphically directional yet visually eclectic- offering pause points and perspectives that continually engage the user.
The ground floor houses transparent retail spaces that open directly to the central avenue, encouraging interaction between indoors and outdoors. The first and second floors extend shaded walkways that overlook the bustling avenue, while a pedestrian bridge on the second level unites the east and west wings, crowning the dramatic LED-lit entrance below. The third level features a floating café with a double-height ceiling—an informal meeting point for collaboration. The upper floors (fourth to sixth) integrate landscaped terraces, observation decks, and high-end offices, with the fifth-floor greenway bridge acting as a serene elevated escape.
The heart of Z Square lies in its animated urban plaza—a longitudinal walkway shaded year-round, flanked by retail outlets and punctuated by cascading fountains, planters, and seating. The terraces serve as open courtyards and viewing decks, offering both private retreats and shared green sanctuaries that foster creativity and relaxation.
Constructed primarily in metal with hollow pipe trusses, the structure accommodates expansive glass façades that bring the outdoors in. The interplay of steel, perforated aluminum screens, and louvers adds texture and rhythm, creating a façade that shifts with light and time.
